Vancouver, BC Canada
I am planning on going up to Whistler after the tourney to do some mountain biking. Anyone headed up there? It's always more fun to have some one see you bite it down the slope - hurts less. I plan on doing a bunch of single track.

Wish
Oh man I wish I could.
It's my dream to go down that mountain. Unfortunately I have ALOT of school work when I return from Worlds and obviously money problems.
Have fun.

Whistler mountain biking - Crankworx
Hi Arnold
You probably need to be aware that the Crankworx mountain biking festival is on at Whistler for the whole week after Worlds (9-17 August - see www.crankworx.com). I've not been before, but can imagine that it will be pretty busy up there.
As I like my riding a little less full-on than jumping off big ramps to a nu-metal soundtrack I'm planning on heading further inland towards the Rockies with my partner Kate for some riding instead.
Cheers

MTB @ Whistler
Aloha Arnold,
I'm also eyeing an adventure to Whistler to MTB, post WUGC. Got info, links and any tips? What is your current plan?
I look forward to the fun and comp on the fields, and emptying well-chilled brews while diggin' tasty beats thereafter - bring on the ToGa Parties and the single track!!!
Take it easy,
Matt

Crankworx
Yeah, the bike park can get pretty crazy during crankworx. Long lineups, trails are packed. It's a good party though. You can avoid the linups a bit by just riding the upper lift (Garbanzo). There's a ton of great singletrack around the Whistler area if you're willing to pedal for it, check out www.whistlermountainbike.com. Good XC stuff in squamish too. And of course the trails on the north shore of Vancouver are pretty well known as well.
I can give you guys some pointers on where to go, and maybe hook up for a ride or two. Email me at jondotfoan at gmaildotcom.
